This collection was created for all those we have loved and lost. Parents. Children. Siblings. Partners. Friends. Grandparents. Even the quiet souls who changed our lives in ways only we understand. It exists because remembrance should never be limited by circumstance, and love does not need permission to be honored.

The Gift Beyond began with my son, Johnathan “JT,” whose life and legacy reshaped my understanding of love, loss, and purpose. His final act of giving transformed my grief into meaning and inspired a mission to honor Life Giving Heroes and support families facing the unimaginable.

As I moved through my own grief, I found myself sitting alongside other women who were mourning their children and a grandson. Like me. Like my mother. We did not need to explain our pain. It lived in the room with us. A shared understanding that comes from loving deeply and losing something irreplaceable. In that space, my heart ached for each of them. I recognized their pain because it mirrored my own. Their children and grandson were not organ donors, yet their loss carried the same devastation, the same longing to hold onto love and memory. I realized then that profound loss lives under one shared umbrella. Whether a loved one gave the gift of life through donation or passed in another tragic way, the ache is the same. The love is the same. The need to honor them is the same. That realization stayed with me long after I went home. I knew The Gift Beyond needed to expand.

Love does not belong to one story. Grief does not come in one form. Remembrance should never be confined by circumstance.
